php script security issues

i am on a shared server with php script security issues .....i have been suspended for spamming (was not me) which only happen after i brought a website from ebay and the guy offered to setup for me (yes i no now but am a newbie)....people keep saying basic step for security ....what are they or were can i get NEWBIE info ..to secure my php website....Cheers

What is actually your question? Do you want to secure your shared account? If you've given access out to your shared hosting account and a stranger has run a script that spams, remove the site, change the password and don't give out login details to a stranger off ebay again..

There are a lot more to script security issues than permissions. It's all about how secure the code is. The question is too vague and too broad. There are no easy answers. It could be a single issue, or it could be just one of literally thousands of issues. More information is needed.
