Voxtreme...the best of the best?

Posted by Chaps, 07-22-2002, 06:10 PM
Yo peops... I have been torn between Voxtreme and MChost for a while now and was leaning towards MChost just because of location... But at Voxtreme is cheaper...so is there ANY reasons I should choose someone other than Voxtreme? I am close to finalizing my decision and going with them...but I want any last shot comments. Thanx peops.

I can't think of any reason to not choose Voxtreme. They're a great host.

Seconded. Lats...

I too was going to go w voxtreme... However I prefer staying w one host (if possible from the start) And McHost has a way better Dedicated server plan. ( for my prefrences) So you gotta ask yourself.. how big do you want to get and which can accomodate that the best.

Me thirds

Voxtreme haven't made public their dedicated plans. Lats...

Edit] Sorry so many host's I looked at .... I mixed voxtreme up w vortech's plans and my above posts also fall into same[/edit] Still rather go w McHost over voxtreme IMHO I had marc answer a few questions on forum and they where fast respones (even at 11pm cst) and very well explained... I'd like to recommend Voxtreme as well. They seem to have good support and an active user forum, which is a benefit in my opinion.

I had just signed up with their reseller plan, having been very frustrated by the kind of tech support from one of my "current" host.

voxtreme are a good bunch of chaps. They're respected around here [and that means something]. I've communicated with Matt several times and he knows his stuff.

Thank you Mr Bob, I consider that high praise indeed coming from you!! [edit] By the way, I think your site looks really great now, very good original idea [/edit]

I hear so little negative feedback about Voxtreme that whenever a client or potential client asks if we offer reseller packages (we do not) -- I refer them to Voxtreme. I wouldn't do that for just any company

Posted by EzSnake, 07-22-2002, 11:50 PM
Well voxtremes forums are down so I cant ask any questions there 2 points I see that seperate McHost over Voxtreme...IMHO 1) Mysql... Mchost has it... Voxtreme doesn't list it on site 2) Dedicated servers for future growth...Again same as above However I do think Marc could imporve his packages... plan1 to 2 is no space difference...and ppl would need the extra space over bandwith...and same thing w/ 3 and 4. Both comp's seemed to be run by very intelligent and informed people.. both have great support ( so rumor has it ) But overall it looks like you get more w Mchost than you would w vox... Just my 10cents...

We just moved our forums to a new server, they should be working now. (they are for me and our clients) We do have MySQL

Posted by Aussie Bob, 07-23-2002, 12:01 AM
It's not done yet. The next few days should bring the site to the 1st stage. More bizzare ideas to come.

Posted by EzSnake, 07-23-2002, 12:34 AM
Lol I'm still making my site a combo of McHost and HTTPme McHost just cause everyone else rips them... Bob just cause he's original JK of course!!!!! Tony - you have Mysql... whats the limits on it?? Do you have any "Managed" Dedicated plans??

Posted by Aussie Bob, 07-23-2002, 12:54 AM
If you're going to rip a site go with the preferred choice for rippers.

Please could you use the contact info on our website for any sales related questions. I don't want to break WHT rules

Voxtreme again, their support is a support.

Posted by Ankit, 09-04-2002, 09:56 PM
I vote for Voxtreme. Fabulous support, especially one of their fellows over there by the name of Tony. He never gets frustrated with my stupid questions.

Posted by Aussie Bob, 09-04-2002, 10:24 PM
I vote for Voxtreme too cause everytime I say something like this, Tony [from voxtreme] will give me $50.00. Just kidding folks

Posted by jayglate, 09-04-2002, 10:29 PM
50 he only offered me $25!!!

Bob shouts louder than you

Posted by mdrussell, 09-05-2002, 02:11 AM
I think Tony likes the idea of a ride on Aussie Bob's Sun Seeker Jay...

What's the point of having more than one ip? What can you do with it?

Posted by mdrussell, 09-05-2002, 02:16 AM
You need multiple IP addresses for private nameservers, and accounts requiring an SSL certificate also require a dedicated IP. Matt

Posted by mjtint, 09-05-2002, 02:22 AM
how many ip's do I generally need? Also, I have a friend who says he has a semi dedicated server and he is selling hosting at 3.95/month and still making a profit. He says he has 300GB of data transfer and 80gigs of hard dirve, where can I get such a good deal??

Posted by Aussie Bob, 09-05-2002, 02:31 AM
drooling* Aussie Bob likes the idea of owning a boat like that.
