Reselling Reseller Account?

Posted by Cruise, 09-01-2002, 01:19 PM
Hi there, I myself own a reseller account and was quoted today for a reseller account. Do you guys know of any resellers that allow us to resell reselleraccounts? In other words, How will i satisfy this prospect client? Do i need to order a sep. reseller account and forward signup emails? What would be a good solution? Thanx.

As far as I know Resellers can not offer Reseller accounts. I've never been sure on this... anybody help us out!?

Actually they can Say you are a reseller... You can offer reseller services. Charge a little more than what you buy them for from your host. (Say you can buy them for 25/mo, charge 30/mo for them, you make profit). Then, once you get an order for the account, you order another one through your host with their domain, etc. Since your host offers completely anonymous accounts, whats the difference? They are setup, on an anonymous server as well Thanks Sean

Hi Wizard What you said its correct, you can add more resellers account through your Reseller Control Panel on H-Sphere.

Ok, so where do i get it? Ive never seen someone advertising for it, while it seems like a real big demand, looking at all those questionmarks in this thread.

Do your host use H-Sphere? probably you'll have to request him to give you permission to do it.

Most should allow you to resell reseller account, and yep you are right, just get a new reseller account, charge your customer a little more than you pay, and when you get your welcome email, change the detaisl from your host, to yourself and forward it on to your customer.

From experience because some of our resellers do resell we offer them like a Affilation amount normally being like one month of a Bulk Reseller Plan 1. For example if they get a reseller, the reseller pays our reseller and becomes part of our service. Our reseller gets the first payment of the BULK PLAN 1 ($20.50) And keeps it for themselves. The next month but they pay the normal fee as per expected as a reseller. I hope all this makes sense but if not here is another example. Reseller buys bulk package from SurrenderOnline Reseller for the normal price (20.50) or any price that the SurrenderOnline reseller wants to sell at. SurrenderOnline Reseller signs up for there reseller but gets to keep the 20.50 first month. SurrenderOnline bills the SurrenderOnline Reseller for two bulk accounts at the end of the first month. Now i hope that is clear enough... Im sure that who ever your Reselling for can organise a deal like this or better. Kind regards Phillip

Just purchase a reseller acount with your clients info, get the welcome email, change the providers info to yours and send it along to your client! Viola! An example... Customer X comes to you and asks if you have reseller accounts. Of course, you reply, this is what we offer (insert providers plans with a slight markup here). Customer says, Ok, I would like package B and here is the domain name to set up. You thank the customer, tell him it will be set up in(insert number here) hours, and a welcome message will be sent out shortly. Then contact your provider and set up a new reseller account using the customers domain but your email address. When you receive the email, you replace references to the provider with your company name and contact info and resend the letter to your customer...you are now a provider of reseller accounts. You will pay your provider for the account, and your customer pays you. It should be transparent to the user. But realize you are now responsible for the support of that client, not your provider, and if you can't fix whatever issues he has, you will have to relay the question on, as it's "your" account...so there is a delay in the answers. This is how many resellers start untill they get a dedicated server and do it for themselves. So go ahead, offer reseller accounts to your customers! You are on your way to being the next million dollar company!

Yeah what DrChaos said. If your provider could just edit your normal monthly recurring payment to add in the new plan, then this works nice for your cashflow as you could be several weeks away from your next sheduled recurring payment. We have several clients who operate like this and they just email me the domain and new account details - I setup the account - send the account email back to them - edit their recurring transaction and add the new plan on - then they rebadge the welcome email and pass it onto their clients. If you do this, make sure your supplier edits your existing recurring credit card payment. You don't want to end up with 27 separate credit card transactions that could all be handled on the 1 transaction. Saves us processing prices too...

It's not a perfect solution, but neither is standard reselling. It's more of a "next step" to the host having their own servers etc. Then again, that's not always the goal of a host. Focus on your dreams Samuel. Visualise that which can become reality. You too could be the next hosting supreme being if you only believe.... ...now send US$39.95/mth for my special "WebHost empowerment" tape series. Pay here
