Released Sql Server 2008 Express without SSMSE 08

I'm sure most of you know that they released the Sql Server 2008 Express. I installed it yesterday on my dedicated server and then found out that the Sql Server 2008 Management Studio Express won't be out for like another 1-2 weeks. I uninstalled it and then installed the 2005. Why couldn't they have just waited? I know the real geeks can control their server without the Management Studio, but not all users are that geeky.

Microsoft site says "Try SQL Server 2008 Today -Download a free, fully functional 180-day trial version of SQL Server 2008" Are we serious? It really times out after 180 days? Ewwww, I didn't know that. I'll be honest, I might need more than 6 months to prepare for that SQL Server Certification!! My target is Spring 2009. Best, Brad

from the little I've used SQL Server Express management studio 2005, the express version of the tools, which are free, should be functional enough to let you practice for the certification test. The "real" version shouldn't be necessary from what I can tell. does anyone know a list of FUNCTIONALITY differences between the express and full version of SQL Sever 2005/2008? The only one that springs to mind for me is the database size limits, which doesn't affect the actual functionality of the tool. and I agree that it's a major pain to not have the management studio available until 2 weeks after the rest of the software comes out. What a pain! lol
